Occupational Therapist Assistant – Acute Inpatient (PRN)

Occupational Therapist Assistants (OTAs) play a direct role in patient care, helping implement treatment plans, observing and recording progress, and assisting patients with dressing and grooming when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Administer patient‑centered Occupational Therapy treatment using evidence‑based practice and skilled techniques under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
• Communicate changes in patient status to the primary therapist and act as a clinical instructor for students.
• Serve as a resource for volunteers and observers, and participate in staff development and interdepartmental education.
• Direct and supervise support personnel while retaining responsibility for patient care.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree or certificate from an OTA program accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
• Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Preferred: experience in a clinical area.
