Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant Sub-Investigator, On-Site

About the role

A fully on-site position in Phoenix, AZ, for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant acting as a sub-investigator in clinical research. Avacare is recruiting a mid-level provider who enjoys an innovative environment and offers comprehensive training in clinical research for those with no prior experience in the field.

Key responsibilities

• Perform physical exams and assess lab values and evaluate EKGs
• Monitor subject compliance with study drug use and follow-up visits, and document adverse events and their relationship to treatment
• Provide medical care for treatable adverse events and communicate with primary care physicians about subject participation when requested
• Record study events in the subject's source documents and report serious adverse events promptly to the principal investigator and study coordinator
• Familiarize yourself with investigational products and related documents
• Communicate regularly with subjects, the research team, the IRB and sponsors, and attend regular team meetings on subject participation, issues and protocol processes
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Valid and current APRN or CNP license or Physician Assistant license in Arizona
• Clinical experience working with patients
• Commitment to ethical research practices and patient safety
• No history of license suspension or debarment in any state or by the FDAC

Required skills

• Experience with CTMS is a plus
• IV certification is a plus

The potential base pay range, when annualized, is $95,100 to $237,700, depending on qualifications, location and schedule; incentives, bonuses and benefits may also apply.
