Nurse Practitioner – OB/GYN (Full‑Time)

About the role

This full‑time Nurse Practitioner will work in a collaborative outpatient OB/GYN clinic alongside residents, fellows, attendings and staff. The role reports to the Medical Director and partners with primary care clinicians, nurses and discharge coordinators to deliver comprehensive women’s health care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide primary and urgent medical management, emergency stabilization, and outpatient care for women’s health, obstetrics and gynecology patients.
• Serve as a clinical preceptor for OB/GYN residents, transitional‑year residents and medical students, teaching history‑taking, examinations, and procedural skills.
• Supervise learners during patient encounters, guide case presentation, differential diagnosis and care planning.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state and accreditation standards, and document care using the Epic electronic health record system.

Required profile

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited program.
• Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in outpatient women’s health, obstetrics and gynecology.
• Current WHNP‑BC board certification and unrestricted APRN licensure in Louisiana with prescriptive authority.
• BCLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Epic or comparable electronic health record systems.
• Strong computer skills for data entry and retrieval using Windows‑style applications.
• Clinical teaching and preceptorship experience.
• Knowledge of Advanced Practice Provider policies and protocols.
