Non‑Registered EEG Technician

About the role

The Non‑Registered EEG Technician will perform routine electroencephalographic examinations at Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital, a Magnet‑recognized facility. This full‑time position offers hands‑on experience with EEG equipment and collaboration with a skilled neurology team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform electroencephalographic examinations, selecting appropriate electrode montages and eliminating artifacts.
• Monitor additional signals such as EMG, ECG, EOG, and respiration while recording video.
• Set up patients for continuous bedside monitoring with video when indicated and instruct nursing staff on event button usage.
• Document relevant clinical information and assist with patient care coordination.

Required profile

• Associate’s Degree in Electroneurodiagnostics or related field, or two years of direct patient‑care experience.
• Completion of an EEG Technician Trainee Program and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to obtain ABRET Registered EEG Technologist credential within two years of hire.
• Physical ability to handle EEG and evoked‑potential equipment and meet vision/hearing standards.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
