Non-Registered EEG Technician

About the role

The Non-Registered EEG Technician will perform routine electroencephalographic examinations at Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital, supporting a multidisciplinary team in a Magnet‑recognized environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform EEG examinations, select appropriate electrode montages, and eliminate artifacts.
• Monitor additional signals such as EMG, ECG, EOG, and respiration during recordings.
• Set up and operate video recording equipment, ensuring proper focus, lighting, and audio.
• Instruct nursing staff on event button usage and video care.
• Abstract clinical information from patient records to guide testing.

Required profile

• Associate’s Degree in Electroneurodiagnostics or related field, or two years of direct patient‑care experience.
• Completion of an EEG Technician Trainee Program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• ABRET credential for Registered EEG Technologist within two years of hire.

Required skills

• EEG electrode placement and montage selection.
• Operation of EEG, EMG, ECG, EOG, and respiration monitoring equipment.
• Video recording setup and troubleshooting.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) proficiency.
