New Grad RN Resident – Pre & Post‑Surgical General Surgery

About the role

The New Grad RN Resident will provide pre‑ and post‑operative nursing care to adult and geriatric patients undergoing general, breast, gynecology, pancreatic/liver, and urology surgeries on the 3rd Floor West Medical/Surg unit at Hillcrest Hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care under the guidance of a success coach and residency curriculum.
• Prioritize patient care based on acuity, preferences, and resource availability.
• Monitor patient data, identify risks, and initiate corrective actions.
• Document all care activities accurately in the electronic medical record.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Diploma, ADN, or BSN).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA or Red Cross.
• New graduate or less than one year of acute inpatient RN experience.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Registered Nurse licensure.
