About the role

The New Grad RN Resident position on the 5 North Complex Medical Care Unit (Innovation Unit) at Fairview Hospital offers a one‑year accredited Nurse Residency program. You will work nights providing direct patient care, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and participating in cutting‑edge practice development.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care under the guidance of a success coach.
• Prioritize patient care based on acuity, preferences, and resource availability.
• Identify and act on data indicating patient health risks.
• Seek supervision when needed to ensure safe, independent practice.
• Document all care activities accurately in patient medical records.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN).
• Current state RN licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• New graduate or less than one year of acute inpatient RN experience.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (if hired in a critical‑care area).
• Registered Nurse licensure.
