New Grad RN Resident – Med Surg

About the role

Join Cleveland Clinic Health System as a New Graduate RN Resident on the Med/Surg unit at Hillcrest Hospital. This night‑shift position provides hands‑on experience across three wings, caring for adult and geriatric patients with complex medical and surgical needs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care while collaborating with the healthcare team and a success coach.
• Participate in a one‑year accredited Nurse Residency program with core curriculum, simulation labs, and online modules.
• Establish and revise patient care priorities based on acuity, patient preference, and resource availability.
• Identify and act on data indicating patient risk, seeking supervision when needed.
• Document all care accurately in patients’ medical records.

Required profile

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program (Diploma, ADN, or BSN).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• New graduate or less than one year of acute inpatient RN experience.

Required skills
