New Grad RN Resident – General Medicine/Geriatric Medicine Unit

About the role

The New Grad RN Resident will join the 5th Floor General Medicine/Geriatric Medicine Unit at Hillcrest Hospital, providing direct nursing care while participating in a year‑long, accredited residency program.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in a residency core curriculum tailored to individual learning needs.
• Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
• Establish and revise patient care priorities based on acuity, preference, and resources.
• Respond to clinical data indicating patient risk and take corrective action.
• Seek supervision or assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
• Document patient care accurately in medical records.

Required profile

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN).
• Current or pending RN licensure in the state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• New graduate or less than one year of acute inpatient RN experience.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
