New Grad RN Resident – Complex Med/Surg

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Health System is seeking a newly graduated Registered Nurse to join the 5th Floor General Medicine/Geriatric Medicine unit at Hillcrest Hospital. This night‑shift residency position provides hands‑on patient care while participating in a structured one‑year Nurse Residency program.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a 59‑bed unit, including medical, neurological, and telemetry monitoring.
• Participate in the residency core curriculum, collaborate with a success coach, and document patient care in electronic medical records.
• Prioritize patient needs based on acuity, preferences, and resource availability, and intervene when risks to patient health are identified.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• New graduate or less than one year of acute direct‑care RN experience.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
• Ability to perform full range of body motions, lift patients, and work under stressful, irregular hours.
