New Grad RN Resident – All Units

About the role

The New Grad RN Resident program at Fairview Hospital provides recent nursing graduates with a structured residency curriculum across multiple clinical units. Residents work alongside experienced coaches to deliver safe, high‑quality patient care while developing core nursing competencies.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with hospital policies, procedures and protocols.
• Participate in a residency core curriculum tailored to individual learning needs.
• Prioritize patient care activities based on acuity, patient preference and resource availability.
• Document patient information accurately in the medical record.
• Seek supervision or assistance when unable to perform tasks safely and independently.

Required profile

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• New graduate or less than one year of acute inpatient RN experience.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, stressful environment and perform physical tasks such as lifting patients.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification for Emergency Department roles.
• State RN licensure.
• Cancer‑specific certification or ongoing qualifying education for oncology‑related units.
