Network Administrator (ICN) - Watervliet Arsenal

About the role

Amentum is recruiting a Network Administrator for the Watervliet Arsenal industrial control network (ICN), which has a capacity of 50% growth. The incumbent receives network, communications and operating systems from design centers and commercial vendors, maintains an inventory of network hardware and software, and keeps the network running efficiently and compliant with standards.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and troubleshoot network and application server hardware, operating systems and peripheral equipment such as routers, bridges, cabling, NICs, modems, multiplexers and concentrators.
• Maintain local procedures for networks, system operations and product assembly and installation, and recommend operating policies and procedures.
• Implement network operating systems and application software, keeping in touch with software suppliers for current releases.
• Test, monitor and tune the network, perform function tests, make on-site repairs and recover from hardware and software failures.
• Perform system backups to restore databases for network equipment.
• Train office personnel and end users on office automation computers, LANs and WANs.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 3 years of experience as a Network Administrator, including DNS server and DHCP server experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain facility credentials (US citizenship required); Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.
• Pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
• Ability to speak, read and write English.
• Completion of the required training and certification/recertification per DOD Pub 8570.01-M.
