About the role

The United Nations Verification Mission in Colombia is seeking a National Liaison Officer to support the Verification of Security Guarantees Office in Bogota. Reporting directly to the Head and Senior Liaison Officer, the incumbent will play a key role in facilitating communication between the mission and host‑country stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist the Senior Liaison Officer in implementing the mission’s mandate on verification of security guarantees as outlined in point 3.4 of the PA.
  • Maintain regular technical contacts with various Colombian government offices, UN agencies and non‑governmental organisations.
  • Support the preparation and exchange of verification reports and related documentation.
  • Coordinate meetings and follow‑up actions with host‑country partners and multilateral organisations.

Required profile

  • Ability to work under the direct supervision of senior liaison staff.
  • Experience in maintaining regular technical contacts with government, UN and NGO entities.
  • Strong understanding of the verification process for security guarantees.
