About the role
The Mobility Assistant provides direct patient care functions, supporting patient well‑being, movement, and therapy preparation under the direction of licensed clinicians.
Key responsibilities
- Assist patients with transfers, gait, daily living activities, and transport to therapy.
- Perform hourly purposeful rounding to assess pain, toileting, positioning, and report changes to nursing or medical staff.
- Support patients with dysphasia, ensure dining club adherence, and complete routine assignments for a designated patient group.
- Place restraints, chair/bed alarms, and document intake and output as required.
Required profile
- High School Diploma/GED with less than 1 year patient care or customer service experience.
- Ability to recognize and act upon changes in patient condition and work a flexible schedule.
- Physical ability to lift over 50 lb, push/pull up to 140 lb, and perform frequent standing, walking, squatting, and reaching.
Required skills
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Competent in basic vital sign monitoring (HR, BP, RR).
