Military and Family Life Counselor - Fort Riley, KS

About the role

Leidos is hiring licensed behavioral health professionals to join its Adult Military and Family Life Counseling (MFLC) team supporting Fort Riley, Kansas. The Adult-MFLC provides non-medical, preventive counseling, consultation and outreach to service members, military family members and eligible staff, helping them cope with the emotional and environmental challenges of military life.

Key responsibilities

• Provide face-to-face counseling to service members and their families (individuals, couples and families)
• Engage in activities with service members, spouses and families, coach and guide installation staff, and model behavior management techniques
• Give presentations at military-connect events and promote creativity and positivity through approved materials
• Build rapport with parents and families by attending installation and community events
• Help with transition adjustments such as a new school and a new home
• Take part in in-service training and other contract activities, and share trends and issues with Team Leads
• Additional duties may include responding to emergent situations and traveling to locations inside and outside the base, including outdoors in all weather

Required profile

• Master's degree or higher in the Behavioral Health Professions (MS/MSW/MA/PhD)
• Licensure to practice at the independent practice level (LCSW, MFT, LPCC, Psychologist) in the state where services are provided
• U.S. citizenship
• Ability to pass a basic background check, a Child National Agency Check and NACI/CNACI clearance (Public Trust)
