About the role
Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is seeking a mid‑level labor associate with four to six years of experience to join its Labor, Employment & Immigration practice across its West Coast offices. The role offers significant client contact, hands‑on responsibility, and the chance to develop a sophisticated labor practice.
Key responsibilities
- Advise and represent employers on union organizing, collective bargaining, grievance and arbitration, unfair labor practice charges, and labor‑management disputes.
- Support clients in proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).
- Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, motions, briefs, and other advocacy materials.
- Provide counseling on labor and employment compliance issues.
- Collaborate with attorneys across offices and practice groups on complex workplace matters.
- Maintain strong client relationships through responsive, practical guidance.
- Contribute to business‑development initiatives, client alerts, and thought‑leadership projects.
Required profile
- JD from an accredited law school and admission to practice in the relevant U.S. jurisdiction.
- Four to six years of labor and employment experience in a law firm, government agency, or comparable environment.
- Experience handling traditional labor matters and advising employers on labor‑relations issues.
- Prior experience with NLRB proceedings.
- Excellent legal writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities; ability to work effectively in a team‑oriented setting.
