Mid-Level Network Engineer (Top Secret Clearance)

About the role

Amentum, supporting DISA's Intel and Cyber Division, is hiring a Mid-Level Network Engineer to join a team providing critical network capabilities to the Department of Defense. The team works on prototype development, test and demonstration, and is made available longer term for integration, deployment and sustainment. The schedule is 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday, in a SCIF, with possible datacenter work.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and troubleshoot network and network security architecture, and analyze hardware requirements and prepare acquisition specifications.
• Troubleshoot LAN/WAN operations, network automation tooling and network security appliances, and provide engineering escalation support.
• Coordinate with Information Assurance Security Engineers to validate designs against security controls and maintain DISA STIG requirements.
• Create, review and update technical documentation and provide implementation documentation and templates for deployment and sustainment.
• Diagnose complex performance, security and technical issues.

Required profile

• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field, or an additional five years of network engineering experience.
• 10 years of network engineering experience, including 3 years of network design, architecture and implementation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to travel up to 20%.

Required skills

• Cisco CCNP certification and DoD 8570.01-M IAT-II or IAM-I baseline certification.
• Building, troubleshooting and testing IS-IS/OSPF, MP-BGP, MPLS (RSVP-TE, LDP, SR-MPLS), routing policies, DMVPN/SD-WAN, STP, circuit fault isolation and network security technologies (SSH, MACsec, IPSec, RADIUS, TACACS+, NAT, endpoint security).
• MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint).
