Medical Technologist / Lab Technician – Evening Shift

About the role

The Medical Technologist/MLT/Lab Technician works evenings (2:30 pm‑11:00 pm) in the Lab Administration department at Hillcrest Hospital, a Magnet‑recognized facility of Cleveland Clinic Health System. The role involves performing and interpreting laboratory tests of all complexity levels to support patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Perform specimen handling, processing, analysis, and reporting according to laboratory procedures.
• Maintain regulatory knowledge, quality‑control documentation, instrument calibrations, and equipment maintenance.
• Identify and resolve test performance issues or notify supervisors promptly.
• Participate in proficiency testing and ensure compliance with CLIA regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution.
• Meets CLIA qualifications for high‑complexity testing personnel (grandfathering clause).
• Certification eligible (ASCP or AMT) or certified as MT, MLT or MLS is preferred.

Required skills
