Medical Biller / Claims Processing (Home-Based)

About the role

IQVIA is hiring a Patient Support Medical Billing Representative for a 100% remote, work-from-home contract position. You will provide payment assistance to patients through co-pay cards and vouchers, and review medical claims from healthcare providers or patients to decide whether they should be paid or rejected. The role is managed by an external agency and has the potential to convert to a full-time IQVIA employee.

Key responsibilities

• Receive medical claims from healthcare providers or patients and ensure all supporting documentation is provided.
• Interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOB) and CMS-1500 forms.
• Evaluate claims against program-specific business rules to determine approval or rejection.
• Support customer inquiries by phone, email, fax or other channels.
• Identify operational challenges and recommend solutions to management.
• Work 40 hours per week under moderate supervision, meeting daily productivity and quota targets.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a medical billing program or degree, or a certified medical billing license.
• Experience in claim processing, insurance verification and payment postings.
• Call center or customer service experience (inbound and outbound calls).

Required skills

• Ability to interpret EOBs.
• Preferred: revenue cycle experience, secondary and tertiary billing, familiarity with complex insurance scenarios, multi-layered billing processes, and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
