Part-Time Patient Registration (Customer Service)

About the role

R1 RCM Inc. is recruiting a Customer Service Representative for its Patient Registration team at Intermountain Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City. The role is part-time and PRN, as needed and on call. You will help patients check into the hospital, answer questions during registration and build trust by collecting information accurately and quickly while listening with compassion.

Key responsibilities

• Work on computers and answer phones to intake patient information in a busy environment
• Collect details across multiple screens, entering them correctly between physician and nurse check-ins
• Type quickly and work across several programs, even when clinicians interrupt for emergent care
• Listen carefully to anxious or very ill patients, ask follow-up questions and build rapport
• Assist patients on their feet while completing registration, handling varied health plans and coverage

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED
• Excellent customer service experience
• Up to date on all vaccinations, passes a drug test and a background check before hire
• Comfortable seeing illness and injuries in a hospital setting; training provided
• No previous healthcare experience required

Preferred: medical experience. Base pay is $16.12 - $23.21 per hour, depending on role, level, location, experience and education.
