Medical Assistant - Pulmonary

About the role

The Medical Assistant will support the Pulmonary Medicine department at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus, providing patient care, clinical assistance, and administrative support in a fast‑paced outpatient setting.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with screenings, treatments, medication updates, allergy information, specimen collection, and documentation of patient care.
• Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition to the care team.
• Maintain equipment, medical supplies, and examination areas.
• Perform clerical duties such as filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.

Required profile

• Graduate of an approved Medical Assisting Program or equivalent military medical training.
• Completion of a clinical externship or extensive clinical experience.
• Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within the new‑hire period.
• Current demonstrated clinical proficiency.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Clinical proficiency in patient monitoring and specimen collection.
• Ability to operate office equipment and maintain medical supplies.
