Medical Assistant – Pain Management

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Health System seeks a Medical Assistant to join its Pain Management team at Martin Health North. You will work in a collaborative environment, supporting providers and ensuring a welcoming experience for patients, families, and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Room patients, answer in‑basket messages, assist providers with procedures and schedule outpatient appointments.
• Gather health maintenance information, collect specimens, document patient care, and update medication and allergy records.
• Administer specific medications under provider direction, maintain equipment and supplies, and keep examination areas clean.
• Perform clerical duties such as filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting program or equivalent military medical training.
• Current clinical proficiency with completion of a clinical externship or extensive clinical experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the new‑hire period.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift light loads as described in the posting.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Medical Assisting knowledge and skills.
• Optional: CMA, NCMA, or CCMA certification.
