Medical Assistant – Neurology Clinic

About the role

The Medical Assistant will support the Neurology Clinic in Kenner by providing individualized patient care under the supervision of a licensed health care provider. This role involves direct patient interaction, documentation, and coordination with the clinical team to ensure smooth visits.

Key responsibilities

• Support patients and providers throughout each visit, preparing exam rooms and ensuring all necessary materials are ready.
• Answer patient questions, provide clear communication, and complete documentation, including patient registration when needed.
• Maintain accurate medical records by accessing and updating the company’s data systems.
• Communicate via phone to address patient needs promptly and accurately.
• Adapt interactions to respect patient privacy and cultural preferences.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED (required); completion of a formal medical assistant training program (preferred).
• Experience handling confidential information and working in a fast‑paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Strong clinical knowledge and ability to present information clearly to patients and staff.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications for electronic medical records.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and health‑care team members.
