About the role

Under direct supervision, the Medical Assistant supports patient care by determining visit reasons, assisting with minor procedures, and ensuring accurate documentation. The role aligns with Clinica Romero’s mission of compassionate, quality care.

Key responsibilities

  • Take and record vital signs, perform venipuncture, EKG, and other basic lab tests.
  • Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and patient education.
  • Document patient visits, manage medical records, and route billing forms.
  • Administer medications/vaccines per policy and maintain HIPAA compliance.
  • Support clinic operations including inventory, emergency response, and clerical duties.

Required profile

  • Medical Assistant diploma or certification; CPR certification.
  • At least one year of related experience.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; valid CA driver’s license and auto insurance.

Required skills

  • Venipuncture and phlebotomy.
  • EKG performance.
  • Basic laboratory specimen collection.
  • Use of medical information systems (MIS).
  • HIPAA compliance and infection control practices.
