Medical Assistant – Cardiology Clinic (Full‑Time, Day Shift)

About the role

The Medical Assistant will support the Cardiology Clinic by providing direct patient care under the supervision of LPN/RN, physicians, or APPs. The role requires strong organization, professionalism, and the ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Escort patients, obtain vital signs, perform EKGs, and document medical history and chief complaints.
• Administer oral, IM, and SQ medications, perform point‑of‑care lab testing, and collect specimens.
• Schedule appointments, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures; handle prior authorizations and referrals.
• Maintain exam area supplies, educate patients on MyChart, and act as liaison between providers and patients.

Required profile

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience.
• One year of medical assistant or related experience preferred.
• Registered or Certified Medical Assistant credential preferred.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification required.

Required skills

• EKG acquisition and interpretation basics.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Medication administration (oral, IM, SQ).
• Point‑of‑care laboratory testing.
