Mechanical Engineer (SMT Manufacturing)

About the role

Bitdeer Technologies Group, a technology company for AI and Bitcoin mining infrastructure, is hiring a Process Engineer (SMT) in Sparks, Nevada. The role develops, optimizes and maintains Surface Mount Technology (SMT) production processes, solves process challenges, drives line efficiency and ensures high product quality across the SMT assembly line.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement new SMT production processes that meet product design specifications and quality requirements.
• Analyze and optimize existing SMT processes to improve efficiency, reduce line waste and increase yield.
• Troubleshoot process issues, identify root causes and carry out corrective and preventive actions.
• Run process capability studies (Cpk) and apply Statistical Process Control (SPC) across assembly operations.
• Work with R&D, Equipment Maintenance and Quality Assurance teams to support New Product Introduction and process stability.
• Maintain process documentation, SOPs, work instructions and best practices.
• Train and support SMT production operators and technicians.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science or a related technical discipline.
• 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in a detailed manufacturing environment; extra credit for active SMT experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured, data-driven approach.
• Familiarity with DFM and DFA principles.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma is highly desirable.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• SMT processes: solder paste printing, pick-and-place, reflow soldering, AOI/AXI inspection.
• Statistical Process Control (SPC) and process capability studies.
