Maintenance Technician (Day / Night Shifts)

About the role

American Battery Technology Company (ABTC) develops and commercializes sustainable battery materials through lithium-ion battery recycling and metal extraction technologies, supplying the battery manufacturing supply chain. The Maintenance Technician works closely with Engineering, EHS, Operations, Production and R&D teams to enhance production at the Pilot Plant, reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager. The role covers monitoring, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing process equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic troubleshooting and preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Handle scheduled and unscheduled maintenance requests for production and facility equipment.
• Maintain equipment in line with Engineering and Maintenance Manager standards, working with Engineering on repairs.
• Review and communicate equipment downtime and productivity metrics verbally and in writing.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of maintenance mechanic experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience collaborating with production teams.
• Ability to obtain forklift certification.
• Physical demands: stand and sit for long periods, walk the facility, bend at the waist, lift 50 lbs, climb stairs and ladders, wear PPE, and tolerate noise, dust and chemicals.
• 20/20 vision or corrected vision.

Required skills

• Familiarity with 480 VAC and lower voltage systems, including electrical panel wiring.
• Knowledge of NEC codes and familiarity with NFPA 70E practices.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets, word processing and other computer applications.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and communication skills in English.
