Machine Operator (Day / Night Shifts)

About the role

American Battery Technology Company (ABTC) develops and commercializes sustainable, domestically sourced critical battery materials through lithium-ion battery recycling and battery metal extraction technologies, supplying the battery manufacturing industry. The Machine Operator works at the Pilot Plant, collaborating with engineering, EHS, Operations, Production and R&D to scale production. The operator reports directly to the shift supervisor and works day or night shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and operate a variety of machines throughout the shift.
• Assist with moving raw, work-in-progress and finished materials.
• Use the ERP system to run assigned jobs and record and report production data and results.
• Report mechanical and physical part failures to the manager and maintenance via work orders.
• Monitor product quality and follow SOPs and work instructions.
• Read and interpret manufacturing orders so finished products meet specifications.
• Perform changeovers with the Maintenance and Engineering teams.
• Work overtime as needed to cover other shift operators and meet production demand.

Required profile

• Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment and substantial hands-on manufacturing skills.
• Physical ability to stand up to 6 hours a day, walk the plant, bend at the waist, lift 50 lbs unassisted and climb stairs and ladders (limited).
• Willingness to wear PPE such as eye and face protection, hearing protection, respirators and protective footwear.
• 20/20 or corrected vision and ability to work in environments with noise, dust and chemicals.
