Mathematical Modeling and Simulation Analyst

About the role

MANTECH seeks a self‑motivated Mathematical Modeling and Simulation Analyst to support the Secretary of the Air Force, Studies and Analysis (SAF/SA) at the Pentagon. The position starts as a part‑time on‑call role with remote work and can transition to a full‑time onsite position as analytical demands increase.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct short‑notice and long‑term analytical studies using qualitative, spreadsheet, and computer simulation techniques.
• Develop, run, and validate the Combat Forces Assessment Model (CFAM) and present findings to Air Force decision‑makers.
• Assist in and eventually lead trade‑off studies of combat aircraft, weapon requirements, and modernization programs.
• Travel up to 25% within the CONUS to support customer mission requirements.

Required profile

• High School Diploma with at least 1 year of related experience.
• Experience in linear programming, data analysis, and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
• US citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret clearance (potentially Top‑Secret/SCI).
• Willingness to complete required training and documentation for clearance approval.

Required skills

• General Algebraic Modeling System (GAMS) programming.
• Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint proficiency.
• Data analysis and multivariate trend identification.
• Modeling and simulation of combat aircraft and weapons at the campaign level.
