Materials Testing Specialist – Jackson, MI

About the role

We are looking for a Materials Testing Specialist to join our Surventis Surface Treatment (Chemetall) team in Jackson, Michigan. The role focuses on chemical treatment and testing of metal surfaces, supporting the development of customized technology and system solutions for applied surface technology.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and advanced testing of metal surfaces, including corrosion, forming, and coating adhesion assessments.
• Support the design and optimisation of surface treatment processes for automotive, aerospace, and other industrial applications.
• Collaborate with R&D, production and quality teams to ensure test results meet customer and regulatory requirements.
• Document test procedures, results and recommendations in accordance with company standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and technical problem‑solving.

Required profile

• Strong interest in applied surface technology and chemical processes.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive, ownership‑driven attitude.

Required skills
