Production Technician - Coatings Manufacturing

About the role

Axalta is looking for a Production Technician to join its facility in High Point, North Carolina. You will support the production of high-quality coatings by operating mixing and blending equipment, following batch formulations and making sure products meet Axalta's quality standards. The role suits people with manufacturing experience who enjoy hands-on work in a fast-paced production environment.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate and monitor equipment used to mix and blend chemical products.
• Follow batch cards and production formulas to manufacture coatings and related products.
• Regulate machines and production processes to meet production schedules and inventory requirements.
• Collect product samples for laboratory testing and quality verification.
• Maintain the highest standards of product quality and accuracy.
• Clean and maintain production equipment and work areas after each batch.
• Follow all safety, environmental and operational procedures.
• Assist with material handling of raw materials and finished products.
• Complete production documentation and reports accurately.
• Work with production, quality and warehouse teams to meet business objectives.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing, production, plant, assembly or industrial environment.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, a basic math and reading comprehension assessment, and a pre-employment physical.
• Ability to wear a respirator and keep facial hair minimal for a proper fit.
• Strong attention to detail, commitment to workplace safety, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred skills

• Chemical manufacturing, paint, coatings or batch-making experience.
• Forklift or material handling equipment experience.
• Experience with hazardous materials.
• Mechanical aptitude and experience operating industrial equipment.
• Basic computer skills and production documentation experience.
• Quality-focused manufacturing experience.
