Materials Management Technician I

About the role

The Materials Management Technician I supports the Main Campus Service Center by delivering products, receiving and reconciling items, issuing storeroom supplies, and stocking various clinical areas. The position works Wednesday‑Saturday, 5:00 am‑3:30 pm, and plays a vital part in ensuring hospital operations run smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor dock traffic, prioritize deliveries, and safely receive goods using material handling equipment.
• Verify shipment accuracy, document variances, and resolve issues with purchasing and accounting.
• Prepare, sort, label, and distribute supplies to nursing stations, ORs, and clinical areas.
• Perform inventory counts, rotate stock, and maintain par levels in storeroom and clinical locations.
• Operate AGV depots, deliver linen and food, and obtain signature verification when required.

Required profile

• One year of experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or assembly environment.
• Basic math skills for accurate logging and inventory control.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lb, push carts up to 800 lb, and pull pallets with a manual pallet jack.
• Self‑motivated, comfortable in a fast‑paced environment, and able to work under stressful conditions.

Required skills

• Operation of material handling equipment (forklift, pallet jack, AGV).
• Use of barcode readers, handheld computers, and touchscreen interfaces.
• Proficiency with warehouse management systems for receiving, stocking, and inventory tracking.
