Material Expediter - Warehouse Specialist

About the role

Amentum is looking for a Material Expediter (Warehouse Specialist) in Springfield, VA, pipelined for a future role. The position is an hourly, overtime-eligible job under the Service Contract Act, paid $26.18 per hour. It involves verifying material against receiving documents, storing and preparing it for shipment, and reporting damage.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble and repair wood shipping crates with electric and pneumatic hand tools such as saws, drills, nail guns and staplers
• Wrap and pack crates for shipping or storage
• Operate material handling equipment including forklifts and mechanized warehouse equipment for high-pile storage
• Ensure accuracy of input data in the inventory system
• Unload, unpack, inspect, count and store incoming supplies and equipment
• Verify received quantities against bills of lading, purchase orders and shipping documents

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 1 year of related warehouse or inventory experience
• Active Secret US Government clearance; US citizenship is required to maintain it
• Willingness to lift materials up to 40 lbs. and work in a warehouse with adverse temperatures

Preferred qualifications

• 49 CFR/IATA dangerous goods certification (non-radioactive, lithium batteries)
• CDL license for a 26ft box truck
• Forklift operator experience
• Knowledge of inventory control principles and warehouse processes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
