Material Control Specialist

About the role

The Material Control Specialist is responsible for receiving, inspecting, storing, and moving inventory to support production schedules. The role also includes preparing shipments and ensuring accurate documentation within the ERP system.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, unpack, inspect, and record incoming materials; reject non‑conforming items.
• Store and retrieve inventory using FIFO principles and maintain accurate ERP records.
• Assemble kits, cut stock, print labels, and deliver kits to production on schedule.
• Perform periodic physical inventories and cycle counts to verify accuracy.
• Coordinate with Quality, Purchasing, Planning, and Customer Service on material issues.
• Operate material‑handling equipment, including forklifts, and follow safety procedures.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing material‑movement environment.
• Detail‑oriented with strong basic math and measurement skills.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lb and work standing, bending, and reaching.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP software for inventory transactions.
• Working knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Experience with inventory management systems.
• Forklift or material‑handling equipment operation (with certification).
