Massage Therapist - Spa

About the role

The Greenbrier Hotel in White Sulphur Springs is hiring a seasonal Massage Therapist for its Spa department. The role covers guest interactions, ordering, cleaning and clerical duties alongside delivering massages and hydrotherapy treatments. It works 32-40 hours per week during the season, staffing by seniority, with availability on holidays and a 7-day-a-week operation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform localized and full-body massages and administer hydrotherapy treatments and exfoliating services
• Recommend products for home use with a minimum service-to-sales ratio of 25%
• Keep work areas clean, disinfect equipment daily and set up stations according to procedure
• Maintain client cards with treatment notes when appropriate and inform the Spa Director of product needs
• Complete side work, attend scheduled professional training and departmental meetings, and assist with lifting and storing equipment and furniture
• Report incidents or accidents to the Spa Director and follow universal precautions

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D.; licensed in West Virginia
• Previous massage experience preferred, with exposure to hydrotherapy and exfoliation; esthetician experience preferred
• Able to lift 25 lbs
• Customer service experience, preferably in a spa
• Willing to perform cross-gender massages and any service offered

Required skills

• CPR and Red Cross certification
• Proper body mechanics when performing services
• Clear verbal and written communication and excellent customer service skills
