Marketing and Communications Specialist, Research & Innovation

About the role

The Marketing and Communications Specialist, Research & Innovation supports the Texas A&M University System’s Research and Innovation portfolio by creating clear, audience‑focused communications. Approximately half of the time is dedicated to nuclear security initiatives, translating complex technical topics into accessible messages.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and edit content for web, digital platforms, brochures, presentations, and one‑page briefs.
• Coordinate marketing projects and collaborate with internal stakeholders, including the Vice Chancellor for Nuclear Security Initiatives.
• Craft storytelling pieces that highlight research impact, partnerships, and innovation outcomes.
• Maintain and update website and digital assets to ensure current and accurate information.
• Prepare talking points, briefing materials, and visual assets for internal and external audiences.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in higher‑education or research communications.
• Ability to translate technical and scientific information into clear, audience‑centered language.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Excellent collaboration and stakeholder‑management abilities.
