Market Intelligence Analyst - Data Center

About the role

MediaTek, a global fabless semiconductor company, is hiring a Market Intelligence Analyst in San Jose, CA. The role tracks, evaluates and forecasts market trends, technology adoption cycles and ecosystem dynamics across the global Data Center sector, and presents findings to engineering teams, product management and senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Track, evaluate and forecast market trends, technology adoption cycles and ecosystem dynamics across the global Data Center sector.
• Select, engage and manage relationships with external market research agencies and analyst firms (e.g., Gartner, IDC, Omdia, Dell'Oro, Linley Group/TechInsights).
• Use primary and secondary research databases to build quantitative TAM/SAM/SOM models, market share distributions and competitive intelligence.
• Analyze workload trends (AI training/inference, hyperscale cloud, edge computing) to identify needs for next-generation SoC architectures and full-system integrations.
• Map competitive semiconductor offerings, chiplet architectures, interconnect standards (PCIe, CXL, NVLink, Ethernet) and reference designs against market demand.
• Track the platform ecosystem, including software stacks, hardware partners, ODMs/OEMs and hyperscalers, to spot opportunities for SoC products.
• Present market intelligence and technology outlooks to internal cross-functional teams and senior leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related technical field; Master's degree or relevant business/analytics coursework is a plus.
• 8+ years of experience in market research, product marketing, competitive intelligence or strategic technical analyst roles in the semiconductor or data center technology sectors.
• Solid knowledge of Data Center architecture and silicon technology, and of how SoC platforms fit into full-system data center applications.
• Proven track record of using third-party research tools and managing external analyst agency relationships to produce strategic reports.
• Exceptional written, verbal and visual presentation skills, able to explain complex technical and commercial concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• Desired: prior experience in semiconductor vendors, hyperscalers or data center OEMs/ODMs in the San Francisco Bay Area / Silicon Valley ecosystem, and experience with SoC platform positioning, chiplet trends and developer ecosystems.

Required skills

• Proficiency with market analytics tools and data visualization platforms such as Tableau and Power BI.
• Financial and TAM modeling in Excel.
