Manufacturing Quality Intern - Summer 2027

About the role

ABB is hiring a Manufacturing Quality Intern for Summer 2027, reporting to the Quality Manager. The internship offers hands-on projects where you perform tasks as directed and support ABB's operations while building your own education and employment prospects. The work is onsite in Albuquerque, NM, and candidates must live within a 50-mile radius of the office and arrange their own commute.

Key responsibilities

• Support process improvement initiatives in the manufacturing environment to boost operational efficiency.
• Analyze production processes to find ways to improve product yield and reduce manufacturing scrap.
• Collect and evaluate manufacturing data to support continuous improvement and process optimization.
• Contribute to projects aimed at higher productivity, lower costs and better overall manufacturing performance.
• Seek feedback and guidance from managers and team members to improve performance and skills.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program in Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Management (concentration in Quality) or a related field at an accredited U.S. college or university.
• Reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States now and in the future, without company sponsorship.
• Ability to analyze complex situations, prioritize tasks, manage several tasks at once while keeping quality standards, and collaborate with team members.

What we offer

• Expected pay of $20-$34 per hour, depending on qualifications, graduation year and experience.
• No relocation assistance or stipend; interns are not eligible for company-sponsored medical benefits, 401(k) contributions or paid time off.
