Electrical Engineer

About the role

ABB's Installation Products Division (formerly Thomas & Betts) is hiring an Electrical Engineer in Albuquerque, NM, reporting to the Engineering Manager. The engineer supports the planning, design, development, testing, installation and coordination of electrical and electronic components and systems, applying engineering principles and good judgment to solve technical challenges with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams. The role is onsite at 6625 BlueWater Rd NW.

Key responsibilities

• Perform engineering tasks covering analysis, design, development, test, installation and service, using instructions, drawings, proposals, specifications and other information.
• Prepare specifications and related documents according to requirements, formats and instructions, and review and analyse engineering data, documents and reports.
• Consult with other engineering groups so that engineering criteria fit the proposed application, and recommend revisions where needed.
• Plan, conduct or coordinate straightforward engineering analyses and tests, and prepare reports and summaries for review.
• Participate in investigating technical problems and establishing procedures and corrective actions.
• Foster strong relationships with internal and external customers.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or a combination of education and experience and demonstrated accomplishments.
• Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
• Project management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Required skills

• Thorough understanding of standard engineering theories, concepts, principles and techniques.
• Ability to work from instructions, drawings and specifications.
