Manager EHR Applications

About the role

The Manager EHR Applications leads the development, optimization, and support of the Epic EHR platform and related applications across Lehigh Valley Health Network. This senior position ensures reliable, secure, and scalable Epic functionality aligned with organizational goals.

Key responsibilities

• Guide teams in designing, configuring, and implementing Epic enhancements, upgrades, and integrations using tools such as Sherlock, Nova, and Orion.
• Collaborate with operational leaders and cross‑functional teams to prioritize work, resolve barriers, and support clinical and operational workflows.
• Provide functional leadership, enforce best practices for Epic design and build, and oversee system build, testing, release cycles, and vendor management.
• Mentor analysts, review designs for scalability, security, and maintainability, and establish standards for integration lifecycle management.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in Epic applications development, support, or healthcare IT, or 4 years progressive experience in Information Services within a large hospital or IDN.
• Proven experience managing large‑scale projects, upgrades, and enterprise‑wide system architecture.
• Ability to coach, mentor, and influence technical direction across teams.

Required skills

• Epic EHR platform expertise, including hands‑on experience with Sherlock logs, Nova upgrade review tools, and Orion project management solution.
• EPIC Certification (required upon hire) and PMP certification (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of integration design, documentation, and lifecycle management.
• Experience with solutions architecture that connects disparate clinical systems.
