Manager - Building Automation System (EBAS)

About the role

The Manager, Building Automation System (EBAS) provides strategic leadership, technical expertise, and operational oversight for Cleveland Clinic’s enterprise‑wide BAS program. You will ensure safe, reliable, efficient, and compliant operation of building automation systems across domestic and international locations while working a standard day shift with on‑call availability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a multidisciplinary technical team, develop training programs, and manage program budget.
• Develop and implement standards, procedures, and quality‑assurance programs for new hospitals, ambulatory buildings, renovations, and capital projects.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional committees to ensure consistency of systems across all markets and facilities.
• Oversee inspections, testing, and maintenance to meet NFPA, CMS, Joint Commission, and local code requirements.
• Advise design teams on regulatory compliance and participate in design reviews for new builds and renovations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or eight years of facilities‑management experience.
• Four years of experience as a qualified tradesperson/technician (electrical, plumbing, or related).
• Two years of supervisory or managerial experience or formal business‑management education.
• Niagara certification upon hire or within one year.
• Deep working knowledge of NFPA, CMS, Joint Commission, and state/local regulations.

Required skills

• Building Automation System (BAS) controls, HVAC automation, and energy‑management technologies.
• Fire‑alarm, suppression, egress, and life‑safety system (FLS) knowledge.
• Experience with CMMS and Microsoft Office suite.
• Knowledge of regulatory codes applied in health‑care facilities.
