Building Automation Systems Technician I

About the role

The Building Automation Systems Technician I works night shifts to ensure the Cleveland Clinic’s facilities operate safely and efficiently. This role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting building automation and HVAC systems across the main campus and other locations as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with installing, inspecting, troubleshooting, analyzing and maintaining Building Automation Systems (BAS) and HVAC equipment.
• Respond to alarms and alerts, monitor critical temperature and humidity devices, and ensure safe operating environments.
• Assist with inventory management, calibrating devices, and recording sensor and control data.
• Travel locally to other Cleveland Clinic locations to provide support as required.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of exposure to HVAC or building automation systems.
• Strong customer service background.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Physical ability to lift equipment up to 100 lb and work on ladders.

Required skills

• Knowledge of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
• Familiarity with building automation systems (BAS).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
