Mammography Technologist II

About the role

The Mammography Technologist II provides breast imaging services, including screening, diagnostic exams, and interventional procedures, within Lehigh Valley Health Network’s Breast Health Services. The role ensures high‑quality images, patient safety, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform screening and diagnostic mammography, needle localization, and stereotactic biopsy as assigned.
• Apply ACR positioning guidelines, evaluate technical quality, and adjust settings to optimize images.
• Confirm patient identity, explain procedures, and enter accurate information into the EMR.
• Conduct quality control on mammography and biopsy equipment and maintain compliance with MQSA, FDA, and ACR standards.
• Assist with clerical duties, appointment scheduling, and rotate across locations and shifts to meet departmental needs.

Required profile

• Graduate of an AMA‑approved Radiologic Technology program.
• At least 1 year of experience in screening and diagnostic mammographic imaging.
• Ability to adapt to changing healthcare environments and solve problems.
• Flexibility to work varied hours and sites.

Required skills

• Full‑field digital mammography and 3D mammographic imaging.
• Interventional breast procedures such as needle localization and stereotactic biopsy.
• Quality control and equipment troubleshooting.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Certified Mammography Technologist (CMT) and Registered Technologist (RT) credentials (upon hire).
