Maintenance Worker – Parks & Facilities

About the role

We are seeking a reliable Maintenance Worker to support the upkeep of city parks, streets, facilities, and infrastructure. The role involves a mix of general labor, landscaping, and minor repairs while adhering to safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain park areas, clean public restrooms, and collect litter.
• Inspect playgrounds and facilities, report vandalism, and perform daily written reports.
• Perform landscaping tasks such as mowing, weed eating, tree removal, pruning, planting, and weeding.
• Carry out minor repairs including painting, light carpentry, and basic plumbing.
• Apply herbicides or pesticides and assist with irrigation system installation or repair.
• Operate and maintain specialized equipment and tools.
• Respond to emergencies, report safety hazards, and handle hazardous material storage per city policy.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferably two years of general work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
• Regular attendance and willingness to work occasional weekends and holidays.
