Maintenance Technician – The Avante

About the role

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join The Avante community in Wichita, Kansas. The role involves performing technical and mechanical work to keep the building, grounds, amenities and common areas clean, safe and fully functional.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to resident service requests and complete assigned work orders, diagnosing defects and performing repairs in line with company policies, safety standards and code requirements.
• Carry out preventative maintenance tasks across building systems to reduce future issues.
• Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant apartments, including pre‑move‑out inspections, creating punch lists, scheduling vendors and contractors, and ensuring units are ready for new occupants.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and communicate status updates to management.

Required profile

• Ability to read and interpret work orders and maintenance manuals.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Good organizational skills for scheduling and coordinating vendor work.

Required skills

• Technical and mechanical troubleshooting.

• Basic knowledge of building systems (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical).
