Maintenance Technician (RT) - Tire Manufacturing

About the role

Michelin is hiring a Maintenance Technician (RT) for its tire manufacturing site in Norwood, NC. This technical wage position plans, organizes, directs and performs electronic/electrical and mechanical maintenance to maximise production while meeting product quality standards. It involves rotating shifts in a 24-hour operation.

Key responsibilities

• Follow safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
• Coordinate and take part in preventive maintenance (PMs).
• Establish machine repair priorities.
• Input and manage data in the maintenance management database.
• Troubleshoot machinery in the assigned areas of the manufacturing process.
• Interface with production, quality, engineering and support functions.
• Perform lockout/tagout procedures when working on equipment.
• Carry out repairs and PMs that affect tire uniformity and quality.
• Work towards timely technical progression to meet job-level expectations.

Required profile

• Associate degree in EET, MET, Mechatronics or a similar curriculum, or 3 to 5 years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Military experience in a maintenance discipline is also acceptable.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts in a 24-hour operation.
