Part-Time RTV Returns Inspector

About the role

Techtronic Industries, NA (TTI), a manufacturer of power tools, outdoor power equipment and floor care products, is hiring a part-time RTV Returns Inspector at its facility in McDonough, Georgia. The role works alongside The Home Depot associates who bring returned products to the site. It is a part-time, temporary position on the 3rd shift (Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, 10-hour shifts), with a target length of about 6 months depending on workload.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect and analyze returned products to decide whether credit should be issued.
• Verify the purchase date if available, and check whether the product was returned within the 30-day satisfaction period for outdoor power or the 90-day period for power tools.
• If no purchase date, check whether the product was returned within the 24-month grace period from the product date code.
• Inspect for customer abuse or misuse and confirm that all major parts are included (a major parts list by category is provided).
• Record the credit/no-credit status of each product and clearly explain the decision and reason to The Home Depot associates.
• Maintain constant communication with the associates and strive for continual improvement in knowledge, skills, processes and quality.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Equivalent education: 2-year degree or high school diploma with equivalent experience.
• Up to 1 to 2 years of experience.
• Working knowledge of power tools and/or outdoor power equipment, including their designs and uses, and of inspection and analysis techniques.
• Analytical, detail-oriented, with strong communication skills, work ethic and PC literacy.
• Able to lift and transport heavy tools and equipment (up to 50 lbs.) and reach overhead; a valid driver's license is required.

• Non-exempt salary position, starting at $20.50 per hour, with overtime eligibility.
