Maintenance Technician

About the role

Yugo, a global student housing provider, is hiring a Maintenance Technician at its Apex College Station property. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will keep the property safe and well-maintained, liaise between residents and management, and deliver high-quality repairs and maintenance. Pay is $19.00 - $23.00 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Complete resident work orders and respond promptly to maintenance requests, concerns and emergencies with follow-up communication.
• Perform general maintenance and repairs including plumbing, electrical, painting, appliance repair, carpentry and other property tasks.
• Inspect buildings, grounds, equipment and common areas to spot and fix maintenance or safety issues.
• Keep the property clean, safe and functional, and prepare vacant units for new residents.
• Maintain pools, spas and related equipment in line with local certification and safety requirements.
• Take part in on-call and after-hours emergency maintenance.
• Keep tool and supply inventory organised and secure, and coordinate with vendors and contractors.
• Follow OSHA guidelines, safety standards and preventative maintenance procedures, and communicate with maintenance leadership and property management.

Required profile

• Minimum of 1 year of maintenance experience, including HVAC, plumbing and electrical.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• EPA Type I and above certification preferred; pool maintenance certification preferred if required locally.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and comfort with online systems.
• Able to lift 50 pounds or more and work in varying weather and moderate noise.
