Maintenance Technician for Del Ray Tower
Greystar · Alexandria
Job description
About the role
The Maintenance Technician ensures the physical aspects of the building, grounds, amenities, and common areas meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, safety, and functionality. This full‑time position supports resident requests, preventative maintenance, and prepares vacant units for new occupants.
Key responsibilities
- Complete work orders from resident requests and perform preventative maintenance, diagnosing defects and repairing according to policies, safety standards, and code requirements.
- Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant apartments, including inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, supply procurement, task completion, and final inspection.
- Manage inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment, tracking usage and notifying the supervisor of re‑order needs.
- Document service requests accurately and timely for proper tracking.
- Maintain grounds and common areas by cleaning, pressure‑washing, trash removal, and painting as needed.
- Support cost‑control by repairing rather than replacing parts and using materials efficiently.
Required profile
- Comply with Greystar’s safety and risk‑management policies, attend safety meetings, complete OSHA training, and report incidents promptly.
- Inspect work performed by contractors and vendors to ensure quality and compliance with specifications.
- Assist with routine property inspections to identify safety concerns and communicate physical needs to management.
Required skills
- EPA Type I, Type II, or Universal certification for refrigerant recycling.
- All state and local certifications required for service technicians.
- Valid driver’s license (required for operating a golf cart where applicable).
What we offer
- Competitive hourly wage $25–$27.
- Medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance with low employee‑only costs.
- Generous paid time off, including vacation, personal, sick days, holidays, and birthday off after one year.
- On‑site housing discounts at Greystar‑managed communities (subject to availability).
- 6‑week paid sabbatical after 10 years of service and every 5 years thereafter.
- 401(k) with company match up to 6% after 6 months.
- Paid parental leave and fertility benefit reimbursement up to $10,000.
- Employee assistance, pet insurance, legal plans, and charitable giving programs.
