Machinist III

About the role

McWane Plant and Industrial (MPI) Exeter, a manufacturer of water control products in Exeter, California, is looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Machinist III. You will operate precision machining equipment, manage complex production schedules and uphold the highest standards of quality and safety in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain CNC mills, lathes and conventional machining equipment to produce precision components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings and work orders to determine machining requirements and tolerances.
• Perform precision machining on various materials and inspect parts with micrometers, calipers and gauges.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems, carry out routine maintenance and calibration, and optimize processes and tool selection.
• Maintain production records and work logs, and collaborate with engineering, production planning and quality teams.
• Follow workplace safety protocols and OSHA regulations.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience operating Haas, Mazak, Siemens Okuma CNC and conventional machining equipment.
• Advanced proficiency in CNC programming and multi-axis machining, with strong blueprint reading and precision measurement skills.
• Experience with tool design, fixture design or process optimization preferred.
• High school diploma; excellent written and spoken English; ability to work independently and in a team.
